Who are Lara & Kate?

We're Lara and Kate, two friends who met at a jewelry-making workshop on a Wednesday night. Bad coffee, a room full of strangers, and a conversation that never really stopped.

Lara sees structure. How a thing is made, and whether it will still feel right after the hundredth day of wearing it. Kate sees the design. The shape that makes you stop scrolling, the small detail that makes a piece feel like yours instead of something off a shelf.

We make everything ourselves in Toronto, not in a factory overseas. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand, one at a time, from solid copper. And when you write to us, it's Kate or me who writes back, never an auto-reply.

We started this at a kitchen table. We're still at that table. The coffee is better now.

WHAT WE MAKE, AND HOW

We'll be plain about it, because we know what ordering jewelry online can feel like. A lovely photo, then something light and hollow arrives, plated in a thin coat that flakes within weeks and turns your finger green, folded into a plastic bag with no weight to it. That is the whole reason we are careful about every single piece that leaves us.

Ours are solid 99.9% pure copper, not plated. There's no coating to wear thin, because there's no coating at all — just real metal, all the way through. You feel it the moment you pick a piece up: the weight, the warmth, the small marks that tell you a person shaped it rather than a machine stamping out thousands. Each one is made by hand, one at a time. All our prices are in Canadian funds.

No shortcuts. No mass production. Just the kind of care we think the world could use a little more of, not less.

IF IT ISN'T RIGHT

You don't have to take our word for any of it. You have 30 days to send a piece back, with no restocking fee and no runaround. If something isn't what you hoped for, write to us and one of us will make it right, personally. Tracked shipping across Canada is on us.

OUR HOPE

We are not trying to become a big brand. We would rather be the two women you can picture at their kitchen table, shaping the piece you are about to wear every day, or give to someone you love. If a piece of ours makes an ordinary Tuesday feel a little more like you, and it still looks the way it did in the photo years from now, then we have done our job.
